If you have a keen eye for trends in the pet industry and want to contribute to our company's success as a Category Management Leader, then this position could be the opportunity for you. Under the leadership of the Merchandising and Category Management Director, you will be responsible for managing the commercialization of products in your category, working closely with various departments to offer our customers unique, quality products, thereby contributing to our growth and profitability objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage sales results and margins for assigned categories.

  • Lead performance reviews and implement actions to achieve objectives.

  • Develop and execute category development plan.

  • Coordinate supplier sourcing, agreement negotiation, assortment and margin management activities, in close collaboration with the National Merchandising and Category Management team.

  • Plan and execute a promotional plan in collaboration with suppliers and the National Category Management team.

  • Monitor trends and perform category analysis.

  • Plan sourcing in collaboration with the procurement and supply chain team.

  • Develop merchandising and planography strategies, in collaboration with the Space Planner and the national category management team.

  • Ensure data integrity using SAP business processes.

  • Demonstrate leadership and enthusiasm in a context of change, encouraging innovation and the adoption of new ideas.

  • Assume all other related responsibilities as required by the business.

Key Requirements:

  • More than five (5) years' experience in product development and purchasing, partnership negotiation, merchandising and category management in retail, including two (2) years in a team management role.

  • Degree in a relevant field (administration, procurement, operations management, fashion marketing, etc.).

  • Outstanding leadership and positivism, be a team player, stimulate innovation and generate commitment.

  • Be a mobilizing leader in a fast growing, high demand team.

  • Knowledge of the animal industry (considerable asset).

  • Strong interpersonal, communication and team skills.

  • Good analytical, synthesis and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent negotiation skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects, planning and organization of work.

  • Ability to work under pressure and demonstrate rigor and attention to detail.

  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office environment (Word, Excel intermediate, PowerPoint and Outlook).

  • Proficiency of the SAP suite (an asset).
